Camas Knowledge Bowl journeyed to Columbia Adventist Academy last night, 1/10/18, to compete in our 3rd competition of the year. As per past performances this season, the kids did very well.
Here’s a recap of the night’s competition:
- Varsity – 1st , 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th out of 15.
- Camas Varsity #1 had another impressive night that earned them first place overall. They pulled off yet another 100+ point performance, scoring 110 points total. By the way, they were the only team in our League to break the 100 point mark at this meet.
- How impressive are Camas Varsity #1? The average total points for other 4A schools in our region through the first three meets is 203.4 Camas #1 has accumulated 339 points through the first three meets. Nobody else in 4A is even remotely close to this team.
- Congrats, Camas Varsity #1! This team is made up of Monica C., Daniel F., Abbi J., Jesse L., Rahul R., and Noah T.
- JV – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th out of 15. Camas JV continues to hold the first 5 places in the region out of 39 total JV teams.
- For JV this meet, we had a new group rise to the top, unseating JV#3 from its hold on 1st. The first place winners were JV#4, a mixed team of sophomores and juniors. Congrats to Yozen F., Walter S., Rose L., Yun M., Ethan H. (absent), and Alex D. (absent).
- Previous finishes for JV#4 were 3rd and 4th. Nice work in coming together for victory in this competition.
- Camas JV#3 and #4 are in a very close battle for first place in the region, with #3 at 262 total points and #4 with 254 total points through the first three meets. There’s one meet left. Hmmm.
Well done, Camas Knowledge Bowl. I’ve pasted the complete meet scores in below for your reference if you wanted to see the specifics. I’m very proud of you all, and not just for your stellar performances, but for the way you carry yourselves as ambassadors of our program, school, and community. Bravo!
Cheers!
Coach Greene
P.S. Our next meet is on 2/7/18 at Stevenson High School. You will miss at least 5th period on that late start day, and probably a little bit of the end of 3rd period or B lunch. It’ll be a little bit of a later return that night, FYI, which will also include a stop for pizza in Stevenson. Details forthcoming.
