CHS RR#2 Meet Results

Camas Knowledge Bowl had a great showing last night here at Camas High School, knowledge bowling its way to top finishes against others from the League in our 2nd Round Robin tournament of the year. There were over 100 students and 4 schools involved in this, not to mention the 15+ adults who volunteered their time/resources to make this possible (see below for a full listing of them …).

Here’s how it played out:

  • Varsity – 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th out of 9
    • Camas Varsity #2 had an impressive night that earned them first place overall with 59 points total! They were closely trailed by Camas #1 (55 points).
    • Congrats, Camas Varsity #2!  This team is made up of Aiden Bai, Stephen Fewel, Ava Wagner, Andrew Wessel, Steven Wu, and Christopher Steinbronn.
    • If you’d like to see how this shakes out in the region, have a look here (check back if not updated with most recent results): Varsity Regional Standings
  • JV – 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th , and 8th out of 12.
    • For JV, the first place winners, with a convincingly sound score of 46, were the following JV#1 sophomore phenoms: Vincent Li, Luka Obradovic, Aarav Shah, Tyler Sutherland, Ryan Wang, and Laura Wang
    • And here are the regional standings for all Junior Varsity teams (check back if not updated with most recent results):  JV Regional Standings.
    • Looking ahead to February, keep in mind that the top 9 JV teams in the region (and all Varsity teams …) get invited to the Southwest Washington Regional Tourney at the end of the season, but each school is allowed only 2 JV entrants, despite the fact that we routinely qualify all of our teams for this tournament since we typically place MOST of our teams in the top 9. We call this limiting rule “The Camas Rule” :^)

Congratulations, Camas Knowledge Bowl.  I’ve pasted the complete meet scores in below for your reference.  Coach Bohac and I are very proud of you all. Our next meet is January 12th, 2022, at Union High School.

    Thanks for your continued support,

    Coach Greene & Bohac

P.S.  A special thanks to the Camas community and staff at CHS who helped make this meet possible by reading, timing, allowing us to use their rooms, etc.  These sorts of activities simply aren’t possible without that support, so a special thanks to them for giving back and helping to provide students with a quality, competitive, team-based activity.  The volunteers are, in no particular order … Beth Filion, Dale Croswell, Erik Wiitanen, Kevin and Amy Leetham, Michael Newton, Jane Greene, Aimee Johnson, Pam Crockford, CHS Custodial, Heather Siewert, Joe Farland, Stacey Nilles, Jeanne Jarvis, Greg Macgowan, and Barb Loewen
